More than two weeks following the shocking loss of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the pair.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he only now felt able to express about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started passing more hours together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, adding that he doesn't recollect "any day without joy".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a distinct essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to block the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the cases to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the probe.

The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a record listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

In the wake of the killings, public individuals shared varying reactions.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, offering provocative claims that were widely condemned by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the those speaking out recently. Speaking on his podcast, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and suggested they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an aide could have acted when the choice to comment on the tragedy was made.
