A Major Acquisition for United The forward, with six months left on her contract, is known as a consistent goal-getter for her club and the national team. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for Germany. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee signing for the WSL side. Departure from Munich was expected since she was seen fighting back tears while thanking the club's supporters following a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently. Reports in late December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its leading forwards. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the transfer are now finalised. Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen the Forward Line The experienced striker's signing should represent a significant uplift to United’s forward line. Schüller has been highly reliable in front of goal in the Bundesliga. For seven straight seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals. She claimed the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with 16 goals. Building Momentum at Carrington Securing the German international comes at a time when the club appear to be building momentum. Their recent on-pitch successes include qualifying for the European knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals. The contract extension for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, who has become fan favourite since joining in 2023.
