Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said. An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams." Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at women. The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues." A Highly Successful Publishing History Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages. His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago. A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies. He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October. Television and Literature His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*. He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts. The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
