In a social media post on recently, the former president declared that if Iran were to shoot and kill demonstrators, the US would “come to their rescue”. He further stated, “we are prepared to act,” without detailing what that could entail in reality.

Protests in Iran are now in their second week, marking the biggest since 2022. The ongoing protests were catalyzed by an steep fall in the country's money on recently, with its worth dropping to about a historic low, intensifying an already beleaguered economy.

Iranian Authorities Deliver Strong Responses
